Bashmet Circuit

Outstanding musician of modern times and eternal hooligan. He is always gushing with new ideas and does not stop for a minute.

According to official statistics, Yury Bashmet is the most touring classical musician in the world. Only during the filming, he gave nine concerts, rehearsed and performed with the first Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra, conducted the Beijing Symphony Orchestra, and held several festivals from Sochi to the Seychelles. All his friends and colleagues, his wife and daughter say that none of them would manage to carry even a part of that load. Bashmet is the world’s first violist who began giving solo concerts. He was the only Soviet musician who visited many European cities during his solo tour. And the lion’s share of his fee was taken by the Moscow Philharmonia.

Yury Bashmet still keeps in his violin case the photos of the people close to him - his mom, dad, grandson Grant and Svyatoslav Richter. The best Bashmet’s concerts are connected with Richter, together they created the famous festival in the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts "December Nights". When Richter was gone, Bashmet became the head of the festival, and has held this position for more than 20 years. But this is only a small part of his activities.

Today he appears in the film of Sergei Solovyov, tomorrow he gives an hour interview in Sochi for the movie, in the evening he conducts the orchestra, then he plays the viola and has a great tornado of applause, and late at night he flies to Moscow for the opening of "December Nights". His director says that when there is no this cycle of events, Bashmet calls and demands more concerts.

The film was featured by Iosif Kobzon, Igor Butman, Larisa Dolina, Sergei Solovyov, Leonid Roshal, Tatyana Drubich, Natalya Gutman, Vyacheslav Fetisov, Irina Antonova, Viktor Tretyakov, Vladimir Vinokur, Sergei Shakur, Konstantin Khabensky, Oleg Tabakov, Nikita Mikhalkov, Natalya Bashmet, Kseniya Bashmet, the grandson of Yury Bashmet Grant.
