Michael, a young entomologist from the USA, born in Russia, comes to South Ossetia to shoot a movie about a rare kind of nocturnal butterflies.

There he meets journalist Zhenya that used to go to the same school as him in Moscow. They go to the conservation area and install special cameras for shooting nocturnal butterflies. In the night Georgian army attacks South Ossetia. The cameras shoot the beginning of the operation. In the meantime, all Western media unanimously claim that Russia and South Ossetia attacked Georgia. Michael and Zhenya realize they have evidence that can put an end to the information war.
